The Husband and I spent a lot of last weekend and several hours this week WEEDING ALL THE THINGS! We have to make room for baby stuff so we took a serious look at everything we owned. We even pulled everything out of our closets and cabinets to see if there were ways we could condense and reorganize what remained.
During this process, I was reminded about how awesome lightweight, open-topped storage bins are. We have several of these and they are really handy at keeping things where we want them. Because they're light, they're easy to pull down from upper shelves. I also love that we can add a label so we know exactly what's inside at a glance.
The only downside to these is that the sides are sloped. That means you loose a bit of storage capacity at the bottom, but I think that's a minor inconvenience compared to how well they perform otherwise.
