Judge a Book: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

First Impression: Remove the text and I could frame this as wall art.

Further Reading: This cover immediately caught my eye because it reminded me of some artwork done by Peggy Dean of The Pigeon Letters. There is a trend, particularly on Instagram and Etsy, of creating art of buildings that feels organic and hand-drawn. That look makes this cover on trend but it's also timeless. There is a homey feel to this cover that draws you in and lets you know that this book is going be be about family. The way the tree bends over the building draws your eye to the uncovered blue door. That door is inviting you in to the story. This is a beautiful cover for a classic novel.
