Summary: [From BN] Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court-but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people. Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms-and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future-and the future of a world torn apart.

Thoughts: Ugh. If I thought the first book was enjoyable, this books was even more so. It simply amps up everything from A Court of Thorns and Roses by adding in new characters, new places, and new political and court intrigue. Once again, I'm at a loss for words for how to summarize this book - you can't just sum it up in a nice, neat package; you have to read it to get it. BUT what I love is Feyre's growth as a character. She's gone through a lot (and goes through even more) and this book handles it all realistically and wonderfully.

I'd also like to add that this text has a hearty kick of feminism that weaves throughout the story and characters. Women support women and (most) of the men are about consent and support. It's a nice change for many other books I've read.

I don't normally say READ THIS SERIES without giving a detailed explanation for why, but this series is getting really close. It's just an enjoyable read and I'm so glad there are several more books to go.
