Title: P.S. I Still Love You
Author: Jenny Han
Started: March 18, 2019
Finished: March 22, 2019
Pages: 337
Genre: Young Adult
First Sentence: Dear Peter, I miss you.
Summary: [From BN] Lara Jean didn’t expect to really fall for Peter. She and Peter were just pretending. Except suddenly they weren’t. Now Lara Jean is more confused than ever. When another boy from her past returns to her life, Lara Jean’s feelings for him return too. Can a girl be in love with two boys at once?
Thoughts: ACK! I love this series so much. I just find all of the characters delightful. Lara Jean is still quirky and lovable, her sisters are an utter delight, and the men in her life are all realistically aggravating (and each in their own way).
In this second installment of the series, Lara Jean is trying to suss out how to make things with Peter work when they're relationship started oddly (to say the least), he's still friends with his ex, and a new-old many comes back into her life. It's all very realistic high school drama and I loved every minute of it.
What makes this series so enjoyable are all the secondary characters. Stormy, one of the women Lara Jean interacts with at the nursing home, is just an utter hoot. The tidbits the author drops about all the people in our leading lady's life just flesh out the book in a way that makes this community feel like the neighborhood around the corner. Plus, Han let's her characters feel. They have emotions that are all jumbled up and so human. Her characters get to be and that makes the story come alive.
Rating: 7/10 [Very Good]
