Pairings: You Know What You're Getting

In college, I was introduced to the wonders of romance novels. This genre of books was my comfort reading through boring classes, stressful projects, and finals weeks. One of the first, classic romance novels I read was The Wolf and the Dove by Kathleen Woodiwiss. It's of the bodice ripper era, but this medieval period book was delightful nonetheless. There was drama, action, and, of course, lots of indulgent romance. The thing about romance novels is that you know what you're getting. The characters will fight or play games but, ultimately, end of together.

I think mac and cheese is the perfect accompaniment to this book. There are tons of recipes out there but you know what you're getting - ooey, gooey, cheesy comforty noodly goodness. You can make it from a box, make it healthy, through in all kinds of add-ins, or keep it classic. Since our book is a classic romance, let's go with a classic recipe. This baked mac and cheese from Sugar Spun Run looks simply divine.
