The Friday Find: Stay Connected

Hurricane Michael slammed into the Gulf Coast this week. It devastated the communities there and left people without access to power and communications for hours and, in many cases, days. During a disaster, it's important to stay connected so that you can know where to go for shelter, supplies, or to receive urgent updates.

When the power is out, you need another way to stay connected. This hand-crank radio receives AM and FM radio along with weather bands. Additionally, it can charge your phone via USB and has a flashlight built in.
You can grab this radio from Amazon. I also want to take this opportunity to direct you to FEMA's disaster preparedness website, Ready.gov. The best way to handle a disaster is to be prepared before one comes.
