What I'm Loving: Beautiful Vistas

I just returned from a long weekend in Virginia wine country. Charlottesville, VA is only a few hours from DC and this is the third trip The Husband and I have made to the area. It's the first trip we've made during the summer and that meant we could actually enjoy the stunning views from all the wineries. The weather was glorious, albeit hot, for the duration of our trip. But the sunny skies and clear days made for beautiful vistas.

Charlottesville is along the Blue Ridge Mountains. Many of the vineyards are nestled along the foothills or in valleys which means that everywhere you look is beautiful. Some vineyards are on tops of hills which means you can see for miles on a clear day.

The Blue Ridge Mountains are perfectly named because they all seem to take on a blue hue. Rolling hills covered with lush greenery meet with the blue skies filled with puff clouds.

Best of all, being in the country means hearing birds and seeing copious amounts of wild flowers.

Many of the places we visited took advantage of their views with porches or tasting rooms situated to give you the best view.

The last place on our trip was a distillery called Ragged Branch. The day was winding down, so The Husband and I decided to split an old fashioned cocktail and enjoy the view. It was the perfect way to end our trip.
