AUTHOR: Sarah Knight
STARTED: January 1, 2018

PAGES: 287
GENRE: Self-Help
FIRST SENTENCE: We all have our Oh shit moments.
SUMMARY: [Form BN] The no-f*cks-given, no-holds-barred guide to living your best life. Ever find yourself stuck at the office-or even just glued to the couch-when you really want to get out (for once), get to the gym (at last), and get started on that "someday" project you're always putting off? It's time to get your sh*t together. In The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck, "anti-guru" Sarah Knight introduced readers to the joys of mental decluttering. This book takes you one step further—organizing the f*cks you want and need to give, and cutting through the bullsh*t cycle of self-sabotage to get happy and stay that way. You'll discover:
THOUGHTS: I randomly decided to toss this book onto the pile of stuff I was bringing home from work for the winter holidays. For a self-help book, it's not bad. There is no "woo woo"ness to it. This is a straightforward look at creating habits and methods that help you do things. I generally like the basic strategies Knight outlines. For me, there was no groundbreaking recommendations in this book, but it was a reminder of how you have to be driven to do certain things if you want to succeed.
I wasn't a fan of the profanity or tone of this book, but I didn't hate it either. Knight's "who gives" attitude sorta makes her seem not serious, but her actions and general advice prove otherwise. It was a weird mix.
The book is well-organized and, if you can get over her odd style of writing, you might be able to take a few bits of advice and put them to use in your own life.
RATING: 7/10 [Very Good]
