After quite the drought of dead-tree book readers, I saw two on the same day!
Gentleman Number 1 was sitting in the row ahead of me. With the skill of "squinting" I read the top of one page to find that he was reading Auschwitz: A New History by Laurence Rees.Given that he was bumped several times by a fellow commuters purse and never moved, I'm guessing the book interesting.
Gentleman Number 2 looked like a college literature professor. He had a big white beard, glasses, and a tweed coat. With elbow patchs! As I left the train I managed to make out the title on his pink (!) book - Honore de Balzac's Lost Illusions.
Gentlemen - I salute your fascinating selections. Keep reading!
