Ha! Clearly I need an intervention. My first master's degree is in English and then I had to go and get one in library science. I was hoping the MLIS would redeem my English degree if I could find a job in an academic library. Now I'll just be lucky if I can land a job as a librarian! However, I was fully aware that I was not going to be rich with either degree and frankly, I don't care. It's more important to me to do work I love than to make six figures.
Don't be afraid to look for weird job titles "Information Manager," "Resource Center Supervisor," etc. etc. I think the MLS is a very diverse and useful degree, you just have to know how to phrase things when looking.
