Useful Things: Popcorn

Groupon (or another website like it) had a deal a week or so ago - 2 movie tickets for $9. I made that deal mine. Now I had movie tickets, but no idea of what to see. I had seen previews for "The Adjustment Bureau" and was curious... so I decided to venture over to Rotten Tomatoes to see the reviews. Survey says, the film was 72% awesome.

Rotten Tomatoes brings together movie reviews from all over the place. Based on mathematics, Rotten Tomatoes gives each movie a tomato rating. The higher the number of good reviews, the better the Tomato rating. Movies with good reviews are tagged with juicy red tomatoes; movies with bad reviews are smacked with bright green splats.

Navigating the website is easy. The main page shows films at the top of the box office, recent releases, opening films, and coming-soon flicks. Rotten Tomatoes also provide a page of Top Movies that shows the best reviewed and award winning films. My favorite feature is the Best of Rotten Tomatoes where you can find the films that scored at the 100% tomato level.

Rotten Tomatoes has news on DVDs, celebrities, and movie critics. You can also sign up for the newsletter to receive all the movie news you need in your inbox.
