FIRST SENTENCE: [I donated the book before I had a chance to grab the first sentence.]

SUMMARY: [From amazon.com] The story of Princess Roxanne, who must place her faith in destiny when she awakens to a life she cannot remember and the only thing she can be sure of is the mysterious man at her side who seduces her with his sensual mastery.

THOUGHTS: If you are looking for a heart warming, epic romance story. This is not your book. If you’re looking for a steamy, sweep you off your feet story. This is not your book. If you’re looking for a classic, boy meets girl story. This is not your book.

What this book is… is odd. It’s the second story in a series, but it does not feel like a second story. You have to have read the first book to understand this romance, but the romance contained in this book does not quite stand on its own. There is daring do. There is romance. There is a fun setting in the ancient world (more of those please, publishers). But there isn’t an entirely understandable storyline. She has amnesia? He’s lying to her? Why does that bad guy want her? Why are they wandering in the desert? What?!? Did that just happen.

Basically, you’ll be asking yourself a lot of questions. The main one I asked myself is, “Why am I reading this again?”

Honestly, I think this book can be summed up by the final chapter. There’s a dues ex machina that saves the reader from having to endure any further pain of a poorly plotted and not entirely well written book.

And yet, I still own the third book in the trilogy.

RATING: 3/10 [Poor, Lost Interest]
