SUMMARY: [From BN] Twenty years ago, America Singer entered the Selection and won Prince Maxon’s heart. Now the time has come for Princess Eadlyn to hold a Selection of her own. Eadlyn doesn’t expect anything like her parents’ fairy-tale love story...but as the competition begins, she may discover that finding her own happily ever after isn’t as impossible as she’s always thought. A new generation of swoon-worthy characters and captivating romance awaits in the fourth book of the Selection series!

THOUGHTS: Oh boy... our heroine, Eadlyn, quite unlikeable at the beginning of this book. She's selfish, ignorant, and overly dramatic. I could feel her huffs come off the page. I assume Cass meant to write her like that to show that her reaction to stress was to fall in on herself. Her suitors, on the other hand, are most delightful. That makes them easy to root for. The greater story on the happenings in Illea are not quite fleshed out enough to stand on their own. The country seems an afterthought to the drama that is Eadlyn.

As a final note, I have zero clue on how to pronounce Eadlyn. Is is Eed-a-lyn? Add-a-lyn? Eed-lyn? Not a clue!

RATING: 6/10 [Good]
