SUMMARY: All of the summaries are from the back of each book.

Emma, Vol. 7[For Volume 5] Emma goes back to work at Haworth, where all of the servants notice a change in her behavior. Could it have something to do with the written correspondence she and William have begun? Back in London, William also seems to have become emboldened by his renewed connection to Emma, and no one's happy about it. The forces of society are lining up against them once again and a reckoning may be coming.

[For Volume 6] While publicly declaring his intentions to marry Eleanor, the daughter of Viscount Campbell, William is still not - so - secretly carrying a torch for Emma. Finally deciding to break off the engagement, he is surprised by the calm reaction of Eleanor's parents. But their exterior demeanor disguises their true response; anticipating such a turn of events, they have already put into motion a nefarious plan involving William's beloved maid.
Emma, Vol. 8

[For Volume 7] William and Hakim must set sail across the Atlantic to rescue Emma. She was banished to a life of indentured servitude by Eleanor's father, who sought revenge when William jilted his daughter. And even if their daring trip is successful, they could all return to disaster, as the Jones family deals with the consequences of the societal black-balling they have received, courtesy of the Viscount. But with any luck, Mrs. Meredith's plans to elevate Emma's social standing will save the day!

[For Volume 8] This volume is a collection of short stories focusing on some of the recurring characters introduced throughout the course of the series. The first chapter pre-dates the very start of the series, and tells the story of how young Kelly Stowner and her husband Dough try to save up money to visit England's Great Exhibition. Then we revisit Eleanor Campbell, who spends a day at the beach trying to get over William, with surprising results. Experience new insight into Emma's Victorian world!

THOUGHTS: Hey! The end of the story is here! I thought reading and reviewing this series in one big chunk would be easier and give me something better to say. That is not the case. I enjoyed the story, the art was pretty. The same review I've given to every other entry.

What I did enjoy was the collected vignettes contained in Volume 8. It's a lot of fun to read the stories of the secondary characters.

RATING: 6/10 [Good]
